SUMMER 2017
This summer, we will be practicing every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00am, beginning Tuesday, June 6th. We will meet at the track at MHS. Workouts will last no more than 90 minutes. If there is a conflict, Coach Newman needs to know in advance. Missing a workout will only hurt you because it puts you behind. If you will be playing another sport at Many High, please let Coach Newman know as well. In addition to the team workouts, you will be required to keep and submit running logs for the entire summer. Appropriate Running Attire
This is the old uniform.
In order to maintain modesty and especially because we, as a team, represent Many High School, all runners are expected to adhere to certain clothing regulations during practice, workouts, and at any other XC events. Pictured to the right is a sample of the uniform that we will be using. As a general rule, any clothing worn during practice needs to cover at least what the uniform does. If you have any questions, please speak with Coach Newman. Also:
Guys - You must keep your shirt on at all times during practice. Running shirtless does not give you any significant advantage, nor does it impress anyone. If you get hot, wear a sleeveless shirt. Otherwise, keep it on.
Girls - Please, no spaghetti straps, excessively short shorts, etc. Also, you may not run in just a sports bra. No one needs to be distracted during practice because of innappropriate clothing.
Shoes - Everyone is expected to come to practice with some kind of running shoe. It does not have to be a $100 pair of Nikes to meet that requirement. You can purchase a decent pair of shoes for $35 dollars. If you have any problems/questions about shoes, talk to Coach Newman.
